SilverCoders Programme for adult learners: third newsletter is out!

The consortium aims at promoting the development of programming skills among 55+ adults. Over the last few months, challenges aiming at developing digital literacy and coding abilities for people over 55 years have been finalized in the context of the SilverCoders Erasmus+ Project.
Challenges are a combination of general knowledge of information technology and basic coding skills, using visual programming to develop games.

Currently, we are testing the programme with learners and trainers, soon our methodology will be available on our website and multilingual e-learning platform.

Silvercoders project is coming to an end after 24 months.
During the lifetime of the project, the consortium has managed to develop results and activities successfully. The final results include 32 basic digital literacy and coding challenges, as well as additional educational resources in form of 16 explanatory videos and 10 learning sheets.
The developed material aims to introduce elder adults to basic digital literacy and more advanced “half-baked” coding solutions. Based on the initial research and interview phase, the knowledge of experts and trainees is at the core of the material. Furthermore, the challenges were tested and evaluated by both trainers and trainees in all participating countries.
After the end of the project, the material will be available on Moodle so anyone may access it. The additional resources can already now be accessed through the project website. The material is available in English, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian and Swedish.

Multiplier event
During the last months of the project, partners held multiplier event to spread information about the project. It has been a great success in all countries. Several events have been arranged and taken place with enthusiastic participants.
